The new collaboration tools

The roll-out of Google Apps officially started this month. Several IT correpondants came to Libourne and were trained to Google Apps, the migration tools from Lotus Notes to Google Mail and Calendar, etc...

The IT team did a great job in providing online help and tutorial, mainly based on what Google already provide, with the CevApps help and ressources site.
It is an extensive job and a best practice to help users with IT tools. I think that in the future we should provide the same kind of tools for our other IT tools such as JDE, Magnitude or Quickbase. It is up to all o fus to provide documentation and guides on our tools.

I strongly promote the use of Google Apps to enhance collaboration within Ceva. We should stop sending emails and create Google Docs or Google Sites and share them.
Indeed :
- Emails duplicate information and create a mess of information.
- Shared documents are always up-to-date
- Shared sites aggregates all what is about a project, a workstream, a process
- It is easy to invite new collaborators or viewers. The new comers will benefit for all the knowledge and not just the latest emails a team member sent them if he has time to do it.
