Last week, I visited Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and ANVITA Health in Seattle and San Francisco / Palo Alto.

The trip was organized by the CEDHYS, a French non profit association of CIOs from the pharmaceutical industry.

I've been very surprised by the quality of all presentations, and by the fact that they were all talking about their projects and investments in the Health Industry : Electronic Health Records, Medical Imaging, Evidence Based Medecine.

From my point of view, it's going to be a revolution in Health Industry.
For instance, all patients will be able to have a patient file on the net, secured. Microsoft provides while Google provides

Anvita Health has developped an expert system which index millions of electronic reports and help to do diagnostic based on a particular cased compared to the database. It can for instance find drug interactions or suggest a disease based on symptoms and history, and clinical tests results.

Anvita Health semantic search engine is ready to scale to the world to provide data and applications for evidence based medecine.

As a result, I see Big Pharma being challenged. Indeed, the drugs efficacy will be tested over time and easily compared with a sort of live clinical trial after Market Authorization has been approved.

This also is a vote for the end of the blockbuster area.
