Back to Lotus Notes with Gmail

If you are sick of the conversation system in Gmail, you can now turn it off.

A number of Ceva employees have been used to receive their emails one by one in their mailbox, when Gmail forced them to see them in one only way : anti-chronological order + grouped by conversation.

It is now possible to go back to the old times of Lotus Notes by disabling this feature.

I'm personnally very confortable with the conversation view. It allows me to keep in the same box all messages that are about a given subject. I do this at home to categorize the regular mail I receive. Then you can be sure that I'm not going to jump on my settings to get rid of the Gmail threaded conversation view.

However, I must recognize that some users were lost with it. Especially when it came to forward a message to someone, then to answer everybody in the original message, and not to include the private conversation content in the global answer.

Now, you will never get lost now. You can go back to Lotus Notes view.

  • Select o Conversation view off
  • Go down the page, click  Save Changes  and it's done
